These Are My Trails

Where are your trails? Think of a place that’s special to you, that you can dream of cycling, running or walking through. Can you picture where you are? These are your trails. What’s your favourite thing about them? And how could you take care of them?

These Are My Trails hopes to ignite that spark within each individual coming onto the trails to take environmental action.

Want to be part of this movement?

Being a steward for your local trails will look differently to everyone, and we want to encourage that uniqueness. Sharing what you find special about your trails to your community can inspire others to see their own place in a new light. To discover new paths and forge new routes, each whilst leaving it better than you found it.

To help guide you through this process we've created a digital pack for anyone to use, be sure to use the tag #TheseAreMyTrails so we can see what you get up to!

Inspiring people to become stewards of their local trails.

Where are our trails?

How can we stop single-use pollution being on our trails in the first place? Traditional anti-litter signage clearly isn’t working, so instead we want to focus on prevention. The first step is using only positive messaging to evoke considered thoughts of trail usage and to equip each trail user with everything they need to leave a positive trace.

We've done this by installing 7 custom trail signage pieces all around the UK, along with a GeoTrash Box - an ammo box to arm against single-use pollution. This way we are able to have Trash Free Trails presence on the path, whilst we're not there in person. Check out the map below, and use the What 3 Words location to see if any are near you to pay them a visit!

Be sure to add any activities you do around this project to our Komoot Collection below:

Like what you see?

We have carefully designed these trail signs using nudge theory behaviour change to have the greatest impact possible on our ecosystems. If you think these could be beneficial to your local trails then we'd love to hear from you in the form below as these are each specially made to order!
