Where Does Your Data Go?

CSroundelwithlogo.png

You’ve done it! No PhD’s necessary - you’re well and truly a Citizen Scientist.

For us at Trash Free Trails it’s important you not only have fun Trash Counting, Surveying and Watching, but you understand where the data you collect goes and what it’s used for. All data collected feeds into our research programme, the State of Our Trails Report.

What happens next?

We’re capturing data, collected by Citizen Scientists like you, all the time. This gets analysed by the TFT Research Team.

We then do several things with it:

  • Produce Reports to tell more people about what we’re learning about the impacts of single-use pollution

  • Research potential long term solutions that go hand in hand with our community trail cleaning

  • Make recommendations to brands and policy makers about what they can do to protect our trails.

It is only as a direct consequence of the donation of your time and talent that we can push for change. No one else is doing it, so we have to be the voice for our trails.

To learn more ways you can contribute to our work and mission, have an explore on our socials to see what's happening currently! In the meantime, after all that Citizen Science, it’s time to reward ourselves by enjoying the trails we’ve worked to protect.
